We’re now coming into the second month of the year!  I’ve written about this before however, it bears repeating so you take note of what you need to do if you are going to achieve the next level of income you want!  Do you have plans in place? If not, ask yourself why not?

Sometimes there are challenging situations or you might have to cross bridges of doubt however when you think BIG, reach for the stars and have the right kind of planning and systems in place you absolutely can achieve your goals.  You still have 11 months to do this so don’t get caught up in fear.

Always play to your strengths.  Decide what you want and take action.

Imagine how your life will look when you have enough money and freedom to live the kind of lifestyle you want.

I was on a call this morning where the guest was Nancy Juetten. I don’t impress easily however when I hear information that in 15 yrs. of business I’ve never heard before it’s really impressive. Business is exactly the same as the quote.  All you need is one small idea (the spark) take action and gradually it becomes success (the flame.)

If you have any doubt about what you are doing in your business or why you’re not achieving the success you want or why you’re not attracting the right kind of clients, take a moment, sit in silence and just allow your thoughts to flow and write down everything you think even if it doesn’t make sense at the time.

When you sift through the words you might find that many of them have a similar meaning and this might give you an idea about what to do next.  Also, check in with your intuition!  Often women ignore their intuition however when you don’t and you go with what you ‘feel’ is right you might create a blazing flame.

Before you answer this question I’d like you to think about it. Be honest with yourself
and don’t take your results from what other people say.

At one time or another you probably set some goals. Use these as a guideline for finding the answer to the question of whether your business is as fulfilling as you would like it to be. If your business is fulfilling it reflects on how fulfilling your life will be too!

Not only is it important to have goals it’s also very important to know exactly why you want to achieve these goals. Your WHY will keep you motivated and moving forward. What will change if you create the results you want? What will happen if you don’t get the results you want?

Goals can continually change and they can be set for all different areas of life. Whether you have a job and getting a promotion is your goal or you want to earn more money as an entrepreneur, it’s all about reaching for a higher standard.

If you’re an entrepreneur it’s extremely important to have goals. Both long term and short term! Twelve months, 6 months, 3 months and 1 month!

As human beings we want to achieve results so we can achieve more and be of more help to others as well as ourselves. Everyone wants their time on this earth to have meaning. It could be just for you or it could be for you and your family or for the whole world.

What are some of your goals and dreams? If you’ve never taken the time to write them down, buy a journal and do just that. Writing is much more powerful than just having them in your head.

No matter how outrageous they seem, write down ALL of your aspirations. The culmination of dreams is not necessarily a lifelong career. You may want to fly a plane but that doesn’t mean you want to be a pilot. Flying a plane is an experience you’d like to have and fulfilling that adds a measure of character to your life.

You may not meet all of your goals and it’s OK. Sometimes unmet goals lead us down a different path so if you don’t achieve a goal don’t let it affect you negatively.

Forget about what other people are doing or achieving, When you start using comparison you are just harming your own level of excitement in the process.

Take a good, long look at your goals and dreams list. Maybe you didn’t even realize you had so many desires! It’s OK to have as many as you want. Your business and life is not necessarily about pursuing one path and staying on it forever. You can make a choice to take a detour or even stop doing something for a while. As a human being you have the ability to make choices and as long as the choice works for you, it’s OK.

Only you can answer the question, “Is Your Business Fulfilling?” It is a question many people would love someone else to answer for them, but if someone else answers for you it will not be correct simply because they are not you. You know yourself better than anyone else does. So…if you’re not sure stop and think about the question before you answer it.

Achieving your goals and dreams will give you the fulfillment you would like in business and in life but always remember to enjoy the journey and have fun too.

You can spend your life being one or the other.  As human beings we are fortunate that one of the gifts we were given was the ability to make choices.

Each morning when I wake up I decide how I intend to feel that day so I can start my day with energy.  If something happens during the day that somehow upsets that choice, I stop what I’m doing and I ask myself a couple of questions:    

• Do I really want to feel overwhelmed and stressed?
• Will I have a more productive day if I find a solution and
  change my thinking?? 

I’m sure you know the answer I would give myself!  I then take 10 minutes, move away from my desk or wherever I happen to be and do some deep breathing  just to “break the negative state” then having put back in place the mindset I had chosen that morning, I continue with what I was doing.

I wasn’t always able to do this however, I learned and it really became one of the best things I ever did.  It makes a difference to how enjoyable my business day becomes.  This is not challenging to learn, in fact it’s quite simple it just takes some time and patience before the new behavior becomes automatic.  And, you too can do this, it’s all about choice!

I love Einstein’s quotes because they are so freeing!  God blessed us as human beings with many things, one of them being an imagination.

Children use their imaginations quite freely by making up stories, playing games, pretending to be their favorite characters. You can do exactly the same in your business.

My suggestion would be to take pen and paper and write out your vision for this year.  How would you like your business to look on December 31st 2012?  How will you feel when you have achieved your goals?

Being an adult just gives us a different perspective from which to imagine. Remember, if you think you can create it, you CAN!  Think realistically but think bigger then move into action and make this your best year ever.

What a great time to take a look at 2011 and see what it is you might like to change that would make a positive difference in your business. I’m sure you don’t want to make a new start and still use old habits that may not serve you or your business.

Take a sheet of paper and create two columns. On the left hand side list the habits or behaviors that you didn’t find productive in 2011, in the right hand column list the changes you are going to make and how you are going to make each one.  For example:

Now I suggest you make your list.  Use dates and times so it keeps you focused and easier to change the old habit that didn’t work.

There may be one thing and there may be 10! Write as many as you want just remember to take one at a time.  Taking one at a time keeps you out of overwhelm which means decreasing stress.

I hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend. I don’t know when Churchill wrote or said this quote but it’s so right on I wanted to share it with you.

If something doesn’t happen the way you imagined it doesn’t mean you failed, it means you learned something new and it’s not fatal, in fact failing can be very motivating and productive and a path to greater success.

Having the courage to keep moving forward is probably the key factor in achieving success.  Whether it’s in business or life!

Everything is about energy and mindset.  If you allow those old tricky little messages to get in your way you are living life on someone else’s dime! 

Overcome the old subconscious messages and you will be amazed at the changes that happen in business and life.  Remember it really is about what you are achieving as you move forward.  Past results do not determine future results.   

Often entrepreneurs don’t succeed because they think they can’t do it or even that they are ‘not worthy of having success or money’ or any other kind of negative story.  That might be someone else’s story running around in your head and you are ‘buying’ into it. This depletes your positive energy!

Always remember your success is your responsibility.  Don’t lay blame at someone else’s doorstep if you don’t achieve the results you want.  Don’t blame it on lack of time or a coach who didn’t really help you or a family member who isn’t supportive. 

It’s not about anyone else it’s about you.  Take responsibility and the right kind of action, believe in yourself you CAN achieve absolutely anything, however ‘far’ out there it might seem.

Remember to check in with yourself about what you are saying to yourself and if it’s not positive, change the message immediately.  Keep doing this and gradually you will find the negatives appear less and less.

Always remember how brilliant you are and that you deserve and, are worthy of all the wealth and success you want.

Whatever situations you might have gone through or been in this year, whether positive or not, you probably learned something from that experience! 

When we are open to learning from each experience we have in life we continue to gain wisdom and knowledge. This gives us a way to change things we want to do differently.

I’d like you to think about two simple changes you can make in 2012 that will make a big difference to the end results in your business and life. 

Write them down on an index card before January 1st 2012 and place the card where you can see it each day. Then make a commitment to yourself to put those changes into action.  

The Universe doesn’t always work in our time but it will work for you if you ‘put it out there.’
